i was actually the legal administrator for northern california operations and chief paralegal and i did that for several years with zenith national insurance company. please don't ask me any insurance questions. as i pointed out earlier, i worked with the community action program which is the equivalent of the economic opportunity council here in san francisco. this was community action commission of santa barbara county, which had control over direct services for the entire county of santa barbara and all the six cities within so we had to cover a substantial amount of area, much larger geographally than san francisco but hardly as dense. so my concerns as a resident in the octavia plan boundaries are the preservation of open space, development of greater community gardening opportunities for low to moderate to affordable income residents, the keeping of upper market street at least as a sunshine corridor so that the building, the new growth and developments occurring along the market street corridor don't overshadow the upper market street. i have been quite concerned with two years a

satellite radar shows the will of the wet weather still impacting northern california. here in the bay area we are seeing the clouds associated with that system but this is relatively weak in nature. high pressure is changing the track and it is actually staying north. this is a slow mover we will see some showers around santa rosa this afternoon. most of the activity sticks and north of the golden gate bridge today. you can see 3:00 p.m. light rain for napa, fairfield and san raphael. and 10:00 p.m. tonight that some light ride again for santa rosa. it will not build up in intensity. the bulk of the moisture will arrive in the overnight hours. as we pushed the clock and to 8:00 a.m. the peak of your morning commute tomorrow it looks like some light rain around bay area. showers will taper off as we head into tomorrow afternoon. here's a look at your temperatures. warmer compared to yesterday's. 10 degrees warmer compared to 24 hours ago. 51 for snapple. 52 in oakland. half moon bay at 54 degrees 514 napa. upper 50s and the north bay. a lot of cloud cover. 63 for oaklan

over the years i've held a number of forums in my northern california district to raise awareness about identity theft and financial scams targeting senior citizens. i've heard complaints from many of these constituents that while the public increasingly understands the importance of safeguarding personal information, medicare isn't doing its part. with today's vote, we take the first step toward removing these numbers from the medicare cards that beneficiaries are encouraged to carry with them at all times. we've heard too many excuses over the years and it is becoming clear to me that c.m.s. simply isn't interested in protecting seniors and people with disabilities from identity theft. importantly, this legislation will not increase the deficit. h.r. 1509 also includes a study to examine the use of smart card technology in the medicare program. some technology stakeholders have expressed concerns that the direation of the two-year study -- duration of the two-year study, if g.a.o. is able to complete the study on a more expedited time frame, i would be happy to work with congressman g
